Putting On Our Faces
A thin layer of BB cream and some bronzer are all you’ll need to get a healthy enough glow for great pictures. The Body Shop Moisture White BB Serum Inside isn’t just a BB cream that evens out the skin tone. It contains SPF protection as well as shiso extract to halt early melanin-making signals to help prevent freckles and uneven pigmentation. With Community Fair Trade organic aloe to help soothe the skin, this should provide a soothing shield against the haze.
Some Came More Prepared Than Others
The fun thing about travelling with your girlfriends is seeing the different meanings to the term “freshen up”. For me, I just want to re-line my eyes. For Denise, she needs to give herself a spritz of fragrance all over. For Lili, putting on her face. For Vanessa, it’s doing her eyes. “My face is going to be covered with a mask, surely I should have something for the eyes!” she reasoned.
The Body Shop Colour Crush Eyeshadows she was given to use are part of The Body Shop’s on-going commitment to produce cruelty-free beauty products. These eyeshadows do not contain animal ingredients, such as crushed beetles. They are also not tested on animals, and contains Community Fair Trade marula oil.
Because I have single eyelids, I am usually on the lookout for eye products that can make my eyes look bigger, brighter and more defined. On our trip, I tried blending two colours together – Be My Clementine (the lighter peach shade) with Blue Over You (a denim blue shade) The colours adhered easily to my eyelids; even if I used my fingers to apply the eyeshadows, the colours still come out looking fresh and ‘un-muddy’. I really liked how the colours gave my eyes a little ‘life’ but wasn’t too OTT for a day out in Malacca.” Vanessa
First Stop: Geographer Cafe
Almost as famous as Jonker Walk itself, Geographer Cafe is well-known for being THE Malaccan backdrop in movies and TV drama series. We popped in for a quick lunch and beer, taking refuge from the scorching heat and “light” haze.
Careful not to linger on for too long (we have lots to cover!), we finished our lunch quickly and pressed on with our mission to see as much of Jonker Walk and Malacca as possible.
