[Infographic] 8 Things You Never Knew About Elizabeth Arden’s Eight Hour Cream – Tan Lili

It’s probably no news to you that this award-winning skin protectant – a beauty essential for many makeup artists, celebrities and beauty editors around the world – is widely acclaimed for its incredible calming and hydrating benefits. But did you know when the cream was developed 70 years ago by Ms Elizabeth Arden, she used it to soothe her horses’ bruises? PLUS: Read founder Tan Lili’s review of the new Eight Hour Cream Skin Protectant Nighttime Miracle Moisturizer.

I’m a bit ashamed to admit that, prior to this review of the Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream Skin Protectant Nighttime Miracle Moisturizer, I had never experienced the wonders of the legendary cream. And now that I have, my dry skin wishes I’d discovered it sooner.

The 84-year-old formula of the original Eight Hour Cream – a combination of petrolatum, beta-hydroxy and vitamin E – has seen slight adjustments with targeted benefits over the years with the expanding line of Eight Hour Cream products. The latest addition to the line is the Eight Hour Cream Skin Protectant Nighttime Miracle Moisturizer, an overnight gel-cream that’s been proven to intensely hydrate the skin and improve its texture while you sleep.

Compared to the original, the texture of this night cream is slightly lighter – though it still feels a little rich, especially for first-time users of the Eight Hour Cream line. Despite its texture, it doesn’t leave my skin feeling uncomfortably greasy. By morning, my skin feels supercharged with moisture-retaining ingredients, and looks visibly smoother and softer. Another unique feature of the Eight Hour Cream Skin Protectant Nighttime Miracle Moisturizer is the infusion of lavender essence, which works really well to calm the mind before bedtime.

While it is suitable for all skin types, including sensitive skin, I’d recommend this for those with dehydrated skin – like mine! Slowpoke me can’t wait to try out the rest of the products from the Eight Hour Cream line.
