It’s Super Bowl Day and we are all excited about … THE ADS! Here are 5 super awesome ones that’ve fallen into our radar.
America’s largest mass TV event kicks off and those of us who know nuts about American football are excited for ONE THING: the ADS! A poll by Harris/Decima revealed that 46 percent of Canadians tuning into Super Bowl intend to watch the ads throughout! At US$4 million a spot, the advertising slots of Super Bowl 2014 sold out in December last year. This is also a time when brands go all out in the creativity department and try to outdo each other in the funny/heartwarming/sexy/mindblowing departments. Remember that Volkswagen Darth Vader ad? YEP! That’s a Super Bowl ad! And it’s the MOST SHARED SUPER BOWL AD, EVER! So while many of us (myself included) will not be able to talk extensively about the sport, let us enjoy the fruit of labour of the creatives who probably spent many a sleepless night, trying to come up with an ad that’ll drive social media crazy! ENJOY!
1. In which Morpheus helps Kia change the way we look at luxury
2. In which Hyundai plays on the “Dad’s got us” thing perfectly
3. This one will make you go “Awwww” and leave you smiling like an idiot in love
4. The one that will make all you Tom Hiddleston fans swoon
5. This is my personal favourite …
And, the one I can’t understand what the fuss is about …
The one that maybe only journalists and writers will appreciate …
This one will leave you hanging … hoping for some awesome punchline … and leave you sorely disappointed
That’s a super-fast round-up of Super Bowl 2014 ads for you. If you have any personal favourites (or unfavourites) you want to share, be sure to tell us about it! Happy Monday!
