Easy Halloween Costume Ideas – Tan Lili

Put off by the thought of dressing up for Halloween because it’s too troublesome? Well, you don’t have to go all out like Heidi Klum does every freakin’ year.

Case in point: My friends and I only finalised our theme for this year’s Halloween a couple of days ago; we will be going as Zombies in Pyjamas. All we need to get are cheap pyjamas sets (just go to any Pasar Malam!) and bathroom slippers (Daiso has plenty). For makeup, simply slap on generous amounts of white face powder, haphazardly apply black eyeshadow around your eyes, add fake blood all over, and we’re done. Simple, cheap, and so effective!

Here are some other incredibly easy-to-prepare Halloween costume ideas:

The Addams Family

Works best if you’re going with a group of friends. Think goth, bow tie, centre parting and, of course, lots of black.

If you’re feeling particularly brave, don a leotard, bun up your hair, wear a gold chain, and stick out your tongue. Always stick out your tongue.

Bloody Carrie

In anticipation of the upcoming remake on the big screen, get a cheap red dress and douse yourself in fake blood. Tip: Wear a wig – you wouldn’t want to spend the next two days getting rid of the mess in your hair.

You just need a white vanguard sheet, colour pencils, and a pair of scissors.

There are plenty of Halloween parties happening this weekend. But if you’re looking to have fun without having to pay a registration fee, I know just the place to hang out: Clarke Quay. I spent my Halloween there for the first time last year, and it was EPIC. You’ll be surprised to see just how many people bothered to dress up for the occasion! Plenty of photo opportunities, too.

See you there!
